Small Business Ideas and How to implement Them

Small businesses often grow from a small idea. Often it can be as little as a 'throw-away' or "off-the-cuff" remark made by someone that will get a business minded person thinking. This is all it needs to be the beginning of a huge adventure.

The trick is to keep the thinking real and grounded. Too many small businesses flop because they don't stay grounded. By being grounded I mean to do your homework and make sure the figures add up because that is the bottom line. Unless, of course, you like to pay your own money just to have a job?

Sadly, if you look around at some of the dying malls in our towns and speak with the business owners, that is what many of them will say to you.

When I first started in business it was in Darwin, NT Australia and I had a good friend who gave me some good advice (once again in a throw-away remark) "That if I wanted to go broke, I'd prefer do it sitting under a palm tree"

Implementing a small business idea has to begin with the bottom line. If that doesn't show a profit, then maybe it might be time to find your own palm tree :-)
